Legacy of Kain de retour ?
Legacy of Kain devrait faire son grand retour sur console de salon dans les prochains mois.
Imaginée à la fin des années 90 par Crystal Dynamics, la série pourrait prochainement faire son grand retour, plus de 8 ans après la sortie du dernier épisode intitulé Legacy of Kain: Defiance. Si l’on en croit certaines rumeurs, Square Enix chercherait à connaitre l’avis des joueurs au sujet du nom à donner au prochain opus, lequel pourrait être présenté lors de l’E3 qui débutera le 6 juin prochain. Obsidian Blood, Obsidian Sun, Dead Sun, et Revenant, voici quelques-uns des noms évoqués par la firme nippone.

After a legal tussle Tomb Raider creator Crystal Dynamics made subsequent sequels with stories penned by Uncharted scribe Amy Hennig. The fifth game in the series, Legacy of Kain: Defiance, launched in 2004 on the PC, PlayStation 2 and Xbox.

Is a Legacy of Kain remake or reboot of the classic action adventure series in consideration by Eidos owner Square Enix?
After already rebooting the Dues Ex series with Deus Ex: Human Revolution , a game that looks like it will be a smash hit, why not try out for the horror action of the Blood Omen/Legacy of Kain games next? After all, gamers haven’t seen a new entry since last generation’s Legacy of Kain: Defiance, released in 2003 for Xbox1, PC and PS2.
Following the fact that Kain and Raziel appeared as playable characters in the downloadable Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light , reports have surfaced that a paid online survey is making the rounds which asks participants to choose which of the four following names would make a good subtitle for a possible new game in the Legacy of Kain series.
The subtitles include:
Obsidian Blood Obsidian Sun Dead Sun RevenantThe participants were then asked whether the speculative reboot should pair one of the above subtitles as suffixes to “Legacy of Kain”, “Blood Omen” or “Soul Reaver” or whether one of the above subtitles would work as the entire new title themselves.
With E3 2011 just around the corner it will be interesting to see if Square Enix will take a stab at rebooting the long-dormant franchise, after all it has been eight years since the release of Defiance.
