"[The legislators] need to see that cigars are not marketed to youth, that you're enjoying a luxury that is not addictive and only helps your peace of mind and relaxation. They need to note the nature of handmade cigars, and the walk-in humidor is not a death trap evil ... "He wrote."This is our time to use the democratic process and our grassroots movement to advance the necessary legislation, now more than ever."

Episode #62 Carlos Torano The Brick

In this episode we review some cigars donated to us by the Torano Family cigar company. Many know them for their premiums, but do their budget lines match up with the same quality? Find out on this week’s Crap Cigar show.

This cigar is called The Brick (not to be confused with the Brick House cigar).  This cigar is a box press shape (they call it square press, generic for box press??) and is only $2.50 a stick for the churchill size (7×56).  It has a sumatra wrapper with a honduran binder and long filler.  The construction is really great on these with hardly any imperfections and only a few larger veins.  The wrapper is more of a toothy wrapper and a bit rough around the edges.  There is not much of an aroma to this cigar, only a feint barnyard smell on the foot of the cigar.

The first few puffs is really great, especially for a cheap smoke.  I had them resting in my humidor for awhile and even when I first got these, they were still really great sticks.  This cigar has a nice creamy smoke with an addition of spice.  The spice smoothed out over time in the humidor and became more mellow.  These age surprisingly well.  Bobby Butane’s started out with cream and changed into mostly spice characteristics.

Toward the middle of this cigar all the way into the nub it burns even, smooth draw, and lots of enjoyable flavors.  It starts out with a cream and slight pepper and kicks in to a full pepper taste starting from the middle all the way to the end.  This is a damn good cigar, especially for the price.  This is a diamond in the rough for us.  I may have to buy more of these even though we already smoked through a whole box of these.  This is one of those cigars that you can enjoy as an everyday smoke because of the price or even as your “special/weekend” smoke.  Pick these up at your B&M or on bestcigarprices.com online.  You can’t go wrong with these boys, smokem up!  We smoke the shit so you don’t have to!
