Day 1

I have just arrived in Austin to begin a rehearsal two weeks of Richard "Rick" Linklater (Slacker, Dazed and Confused, Before Sunrise) SubUrbia new film. It is written by Eric Bagosian, and was originally a play staged for the theater in New York at Lincoln Center.

***** I auditioned for the game is up for lead, "Sooze" and was interrupted during a line in my dialog box on the second page (of a piece of 10 pg. hearing), by the director, who said to me, "That's enough, thank you." I said, "No, thank you" and left .... of course .**** I wonder if he has done to all players, and so maybe if I didn 't left, if I woulda got the role. Various directors working in different ways. I do not know. It's something I still think, question ... .. behold.

A week ago, the entire cast and Rick and Eric have come together to read the script four times in Los Angeles.There really is nothing more exciting than hearing a piece of work and read and reread again and again. When I slept overnight in the hotel, the entire script filled my being, and rang in my ears like a silver bell bought at Tiffany. It echoes through me, that's what I mean. By reading the fourth cast I've heard its essence, its meaning, its history and intrigue.

Just to be really honest for a second, I must admit (and am not ashamed) that I was a little sad that I could not bring out as many lines as all the other players.Giovanni and Aimee and Nicky and Jace, and Steve and Dina and Ajay all have more lines than I do. Highlighter Nicky ran for one of its monolouges, and I could swear he looked at me like, "You should really let me use your parka highlighter." But maybe I was paranoid. I do not know. This sort of thing always happens to me when I get Immersed in a Supporting Role. I "lose" myself. I'm starting to think like my character and I confused, when the thoughts are mine, and whose thoughts are his own. Anyway. back to me for a second: There are no small parts, only small actors.And I'll be as good in the role of "Erica".
