MS Trust attends stuntman Rocky Taylor's film premiere!15 July 2011
Author: MS Trust
Legendary British stuntman, Rocky Taylor, is supporting Remember A Charity's 2011 campaign to raise awareness of the importance of gifts in wills to the survival of UK charities.
As a member of Remember A Charity , the MS Trust was invited to attend the launch of the campaign, the premiere of a film about Rocky's life which was held at the Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square on Tuesday.
Rocky, aged 64 surprised the crowd waiting outside by bursting through the glass doors of the cinema! Guests were then invited in to see the film of Rocky's life which showed some of his famous stunts from films including Titanic, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter and Pirates of The Caribbean. Far from retiring, he is currently juggling his role with Remember A Charity with filming the sequel to Clash of The Titans. He was also the first Honey Monster in the popular TV ads, taught Cliff Richard Judo for a film role and has been involved in the production of all 22 Bond movies.
Rocky then answered questions from the audience telling them that he had followed in his father's footsteps as a stuntman and that having a very good stunt co-ordinator was key to staying alive!
As a stuntman, Rocky knows all too well the importance of having a will, and after taking care of loved ones, has included a gift to his favourite charities. Rocky hopes to attract thousands of online viewers to watch him recreate a stunt which went wrong and nearly killed him whilst filing Death Wish 3 in 1985. Rocky will be doing this famous stunt once again at Battersea Power Station on the 2nd August in the hope that it will encourage people to consider leaving a gift in their will to charity.
MS Trust supporters and the general public can follow Rocky's campaign on Facebook and can even vote on the size of the flames for the stunt!

Ringu with Poltergeist, Tobe Hooper and Stephen Spielberg's over the top critique of suburban sprawl gone horridly wrong Cigarette Burns Cinema pitches tent at Central London's last surviving independent cinema, The Prince Charles Cinema.
Well aware that sections of the British establishment had begun to despise her (following her separation from Prince Charles) and wanted her to disappear from public life, she summarised her plight in two pithy phrases: "She won't go quietly – that's
It was by the old Gaumont Cinema and the Toxteth chapel, apparently Prince Charles' favourite building! It was the first home for me and my partner, it was a real 'do'er upper'. We really enjoyed making it our own, we've got good memories of that house
On Thursday 21st July, the band will be playing a single launch show for 'Lost in the Trees' at Prince Charles Cinema in London entitled 'An Evening of Film and Music curated by Richmond Fontaine'. The show will include an acoustic set from the band,
STREAM: Richmond Fontaine – Lost in the Trees
Both ‘Lost in the Trees’ and ‘The Eagles Lodge’ are fragments from the gothic love story between a mechanic and an auto parts store counter girl, whose secret love inspires an effort to escape the darkness of the world that surrounds them — drugs, violence, madness, loneliness, and desperation set against a backdrop of endless logging roads and the remains of a forest brutalized by logging. In this story of light versus dark, Vlautin has woven a tale where screw-ups and freaks terrorize the lives of innocents.
The limited edition 7” features an instrumental exclusive, ‘The Mechanic Meets Girl at the Movies’ and also comes complete with artifacts from the bleakly unsettling world of ‘The High Country’ – a match book from The Chainsaw Sea (a bar owned by a speed freak), back stories of the characters written on headed paper from The Eagles Lodge where local conservative folk meet and a beer mat asking the whereabouts of the missing girl.
Richmond Fontaine will be touring acoustically this summer and have shows at the Port Eliot and Truck festivals amongst others lined up; they also have a special single launch planned for July at The Prince Charles Cinema in London. Entitled ‘An Evening of Film and Music curated by Richmond Fontaine’, the band will premiere the ‘Lost in the Trees’ video and play an acoustic set, Vlautin will then introduce the perfect cinematic counterpart to the band’s latest work: David Lynch’s Blue Velvet – home of Lumberton, surely the most infamous logging town in popular culture.
Wed 20th July – The Railway, Winchester Sun 24th July – Americana Summertyne Festival, Newcastle
Richmond Fontaine will also be playing as a full band for a unique show later this year where they will be performing the entire new album and the entire ‘Post to Wire’ album:
Tues 27th Sept – The Scala, London
In addition to his work with Richmond Fontaine, lead vocalist Willy Vlautin has written three critically lauded novels, ‘The Motel Life’, ‘Northline’ and ‘Lean on Pete’. ‘The Motel Life’ has just been turned into a major motion picture set for release in early 2012 produced and directed by the Polsky Brothers (Bad Lieutenant) and featuring Dakota Fanning, Stephen Dorff, Emile Hersch and Kris Kristofferson.
