Low-cost airline easyJet has launched a new range of flights departing from London Gatwick to Aberdeen and Verona in northern Italy.

The roll out of the Aberdeen flight came as a result of customer demand for more regular flights connecting the London hub with the Scottish city.

The Verona flight - which departs daily - will provide hungry travellers with even more options for short breaks.

easyJet's UK director, Paul Simmons, said: "These routes offer the best of both worlds for business and leisure passengers.

"Verona is a popular holiday destination for culture vultures and all year round sun-seekers and we've responded to customer feedback for a daily route to Aberdeen, which will allow us to carry an extra 100,000 passengers a year between the two cities," he added.

The airline's current 92 services from London Gatwick to destinations all over Europe will soon be added to with a new flight to Catania in Sicily, which is due to be introduced soon.
